Exhibition Night – “Macro/Close-Up” Jan 25

We kick off 2025 with one of the popular themes amongst members “Macro Close Up”. This print exhibition never fails to provide great imagery for viewing.
Brief – Macro
Entries for this theme will depict the following description.
Macro photography is a form of close-up photography, originally developed for scientific research. The strictest definition of macro photography is that the subject is photographed at 1:1 magnification—in other words, the subject is life-sized in the photo. However, most people use the term “macro photography” to refer to any photograph that depicts a close-up and extremely detailed image of a small subject.
Rules
- Photos must be your work
- The NEW 1-Year Rule applies.
- Photos can be colour, black & white or any monochrome colour.
- Maximum of Two Images per Member.
- There is no limitation to the amount of post-production that can be done to your images, If you can do, it and like it, great!
- All images should be displayed using Passe-Partouts/ Matts of either colour (Black or White)
Voting
- Members of the public will be asked to vote on their favourite three images to accolade the top three images and respective photographers
- Images submitted will earn 1 Order of Merit point each.
- Public Votes for each image will be added together for this year’s Order of Merit for each photographer.
- New Placing system now in effect – 1st – 5th places that will earn additional points (25,20,15,10.5) acordingly.
Deadline for Entries
- The deadline for the primary image submissions is Tuesday the 14th Jan 2025 – (please email your image title and image format (Landscape/Portrait) to the usual e-mail address).
- Additional calls for secondary images will be made if gallery space is still available (but please have a second image/title ready to submit) by Jan 21st.
Frame Change Thursday
- Frame Changing will take place on Thursday 30th Jan between 10:00 -13:00
Exhibition Night
- Gallery Doors open at 19:00 on Friday 31st Jan 2025
