Nightscapes – Dec 24

This month’s Challenge was themed “Nightscapes” and we had 32 images submitted from 16 Members

We invited Ingrid Borecki to Guest Judge this month’s theme.  Ingrid is the Vice-President of the St Louis Camera Club, USA, and a talented photographer who is interested in nature (landscapes, botanicals, and wildlife), architecture and forms, and travel and culture, always trying to make images with story content.  You can see her work here (https://www.facebook.com/iborecki/photos_by).

Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to Ingrid for taking her time to judge this challenge.

Our next Exhibition and the first of 2025 will be “Macro / Close Up” in January. Gallery opening night is 31st January 2025

We look forward to seeing you there.

Selected Images

28 Spritz by Robert Pool

1st Place – “I Love the light and colour palette in this image – very artsy.  Reminds me of Edward Hopper.  Moreover, the waiting man, the fresh cocktail – who’s coming?  I love the story and the questions this image poses.”

01 Deep Blue Night by Bina Cline

2nd Place – “I must admit, the blue hour is my very favourite time of day.  This image just made me breathe deeply – lovely.  The exposure is great and the reflection is wonderful.  The cloudy sky is well-captured.”

11 Lake Bled by Heidi Beck

3rd Place – “The exposure is great, as is the reflection.  I like the placement in the bottom third with space for the night sky above.  We are even able to appreciate the clouds which bring the mystery.”

30 The House Speciality by Robert Bousfield

4th Place – “Octopus!  I love the octopus sitting on top of the restaurant!  So eye-catching.  Very well exposed, and there’s a story there – I’m wondering what that octopus might do!”

29 Spooky by Ina Tänzer

5th Place – “Beautifully captured exposure!  The focus seems good.  My only comment is that my eye is distracted by the branch and white thing in the lower left corner.  I might crop up from the bottom to get rid of that.”
