Neil was born in the north east of England and started taking photos featuring iron, steel and chemical industrial subjects in his early teens. His first serious camera was a Pentax S1a using Ektachrome film stock. He finally went digital in 2004 when he was living in the French Pyrenees. Nature and outdoors have become his main interests.
On moving to Portugal over 11 years ago, he was one of the original group of 8 photographers to make up the early APG. Neil currently serves on the Steering Group.
