Enter the “Smartphone Only” Exhibition
This photography challenge celebrates creativity using the most accessible camera we carry every day — the smartphone. Participants are invited to showcase their photographic skills, proving that powerful images come from vision and creativity rather than equipment. The challenge encourages photographers to capture compelling images using only a smartphone, focusing on storytelling, composition, and creative use of available light.
We encourage participants may explore:
- Everyday life and candid moments
- Portraits and people
- Landscapes and travel scenes
- Street photography
- Architecture and urban environments
- Minimal or abstract compositions
- Creative mobile editing techniques
All photographic genres are welcome, provided images are captured using a smartphone only. Remember to ensure you are taking images in RAW format on the device.
Rules
- Photos must be your work
- 1-year Rule Applies (images taken since January 2025)
- Maximum of Two Images per Member.
- All Images must be framed with Passe-partouts/mat of either Black or White (preferably white).
Voting
- Members of the public will be asked to vote on their favourite three images to select the top five images and respective photographers
- Images submitted will earn 5 Order of Merit points each.
- Public Votes for each image will be added together for the Annual Order of Merit for each photographer.
- New Placing system now in effect (1st – 5th places) that will earn additional points (25,20,15,10.5) accordingly.
Deadline for Entries
- The deadline for title submissions is Friday, 22th of May 2026.
- Please complete the form when you receive the e-mail.
Frame Change Thursday
- Frame Changing will take place on Thursday 26th of May, between 10:00 -12:30
Exhibition Night
- Gallery Doors open at 19:00 on Friday, 29th of May 2026

We welcome the general public to come along and support the event, where you can vote for your favourite three entries and enjoy some interesting discussions with ambient music, a bar and free admission and the infamous “Finger Food Table” will also be available.
