This month’s Challenge was themed “Food” and we had 29 images submitted from 16 Members
Maurice Hirsch of Chesterfield, MO, USA volunteered once again to be our guest judge. Hirsch’s main interests as a photographer are details; street photography; hands/heads/feet; patterns like columns, windows, and balconies.
More information about Maurice and his work and his poetry can be seen via his website.
Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to Maurice for taking his time to judge this challenge.
Our next Exhibition will be our infamous “Free Choice” in November where everyone gets to showcase their favourite tastes of photography.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Selected Images
Simple. Beautiful. Nicely rendered. Figure out how to make the values of the lower-left corner mirror those of the other three corners.
The one black intrusion midway up left side should be modified since it draws one’s eye away from the main subject.
Not sure why the maker chose to do this image as a monochrome, but it sings!
The full subject matter has a good variety of colors which we do not see. Some of which could have been done with selective color. I like the composition overall…it’s distinctive and different how it’s presented. The more I look at it, the better I like it.
Yikes! A really powerful image in all aspects.
Color range and balance great. Having the lion (assume it’s a lion) looking directly at the camera is captivating. And such a different take on the theme’s subject matter. Is one of my favorite images in this group.
