Jan’s interest in photography came from her dad who was a keen photographer; he had access to a studio to develop his own prints and she occasionally joined him to learn the process. She was given an Instamatic camera and, with his advice, started to take her own photos.
Over the years, she upgraded her cameras and bought a DSLR around 10 years ago, and is now learning how to use it to its maximum potential. She is now looking forward to joining photo workshops and field events where she will have the opportunity to learn from more experienced photographers.
Jan’s favourite subjects include nature and wildlife, particularly getting up close to see the details.
