Born in Britain, Kevin was educated at Stowe School and later at Merton College, Oxford, where he earned an MA in Modern History and Economics. From 1981 onward, he lived in Atlanta, Georgia, pursuing a career as both a British solicitor and an American attorney. While there, he completed an MBA as a Woodruff Fellow at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. In 1985, he founded his own law firm, focusing on business and commercial real estate until 2001. That year marked a major career shift as photography became his primary focus, leading to several successful exhibitions. His subsequent return to Europe—first to France, then to Portugal—aligned with the rise of digital photography.
Kevin’s passion for photography began at the age of nine with a Brownie 127 camera. For many years, he worked exclusively in color until 2001, when a Black & White darkroom course at The Showcase School in Atlanta sparked his enthusiasm for monochrome photography and, in particular, for creating Gelatin Silver prints. The reflective process of printing profoundly influenced his artistic direction, shaping both his digital work and his renewed exploration of color imagery.
Kevin has long been active in community service. In Atlanta, he served on the boards of several organizations, including the Atlanta Opera, The American Friends of Stowe, The Merton College Charitable Corporation, The Atlanta Center for Contemporary Art (formerly Nexus), and the Midtown Assistance Center, which supports working individuals at risk of homelessness. In 1988, he co-founded the Atlanta International Museum of Art & Design (now The Museum of Design) and served as its President and Chairman until 1993.
While living in France, he established and managed a hospitality business and co-founded FestiVillars in the northern Dordogne, organizing an annual series of classical concerts that continues today in the village of Villars. Now based in Portugal, Kevin’s photography is primarily shared in print and online. Alongside his hospitality ventures in the Algarve, he devotes his not-for-profit efforts to community support through the organization Somos Esperança Olhão.
