This month’s Challenge was themed “Old & New” with 38 images being submitted from our Members.
We invited Maurice Hirsch of Chesterfield, MO, USA to be our guest judge this month. Hirsch’s main interests as a photographer are details; street photography; hands/heads/feet; patterns like columns, windows, and balconies.
Hirsch made his selection and added: “It was interesting to see how various makers interpreted the theme. For me, I was drawn to images that showed a juxtaposition of then and now, old and new, clearly presented and rendered”.
More information about Maurice and his work and his poetry can be seen via his website.
Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to Maurice for taking his time to judge this challenge.
Our next Exhibition will be a Print Exhibition in May and the theme for that Exhibition is “Wildlife“.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Selected Images
Really nice to use “modern” old vs. new – the hairy old blades vs. the new one. Good colours and composition. Sharp where it needs to be (pun intended) and blurred where it has good effect. Well done.
Excellent in all respects. Colour of church and building behind it as well as the vertical red accent on the building really make this a striking image. Well composed, cropped.
Nice image beautifully rendered with the black background. Wilted petals vs. new growth. The image grows on you the more you look at it. Well composed and presented.
Very disappointed my images are not there!
