This month saw a return to a printed Exhibition with the topic based on “Rocks”. Not an easy theme, but we had 25 images coming in from 11 members who have again maintained the level of quality with the images on display. The exhibition opening night was on the 28th of May and we had a great turnout of over 45 friends and guests that came along to support the evening.
As is customary, each of the members of the public are asked to vote for their favourite three images and after votes were counted the following images/ photographers were distinguished:
1st Place (15 Votes): Nigel Moore “Through The Rocks”
Tied 2nd Place (11 Votes each): Nigel Moore “Through The Rocks” | Hubert Flasch “Antelope Canyon” | António Pires “The Decomposition of a Rock“
3rd Place (9 Votes): Veit Mueller – “Boca do Inferno“
In the same fashion as our last challenge and in conjunction with Algarve Plus Magazine, we welcome another guest judge this month; Dan Birch. Also an industry professional, Dan will select his favourite 4 images which will then go on to be printed in the July 2021 edition of the magazine.
As always, a big thanks to all our members who have contributed to both the Exhibition AND the Challenge. Our next topic for next month is “Travelling Light” (more info coming shortly) and will be an online challenge.
